Three Services. Each Handled With Full Attention.
Chai Advocates offers a focused set of legal services for inheritance and estate matters — each with a stated fee and a methodical approach adapted to the complexity of the matter.

How We Approach Each Matter
Every engagement begins with a clear scope and a fixed fee agreed in advance. Before any documents are drafted or submitted, we establish what the matter requires, what documents exist, and where potential complications may arise.
For matters involving more than one country, we map the legal dependencies between jurisdictions before advising on the sequence of steps. This avoids the delays that can arise when a step in one system is contingent on something not yet completed in another.
Scope agreed in writing before work begins
Document requirements identified at the outset
Cross-border dependencies mapped before filing
Proactive updates at each material stage
Service 01
Power of Attorney Preparation
฿4,800 per document
A focused service for preparing powers of attorney intended to give a trusted family member or representative the authority to handle specific matters during the principal's lifetime — a useful arrangement for individuals who divide their time between countries or whose health requires support with ongoing legal affairs.
The work covers careful drafting of the scope, attention to the formal requirements under Thai law, and coordination with the chosen representative. The completed document is provided in original and duplicate copies.
What the service covers
- Initial discussion of the intended scope and the representative's role
- Drafting of the power of attorney with precise scope definition
- Review of formal requirements under Thai law
- Execution and witnessing in accordance with applicable requirements
- Original and duplicate copies provided to client
Typical duration
5 – 10 working days from completion of instructions
Service 02
Heir Documentation Service
฿11,800 per matter
A careful service for individuals confirming their status as heirs to an estate and assembling the documentary evidence required for distribution. The work covers identification of the relevant family records, coordination of any documents required from authorities in other jurisdictions, and preparation of a complete heir documentation file.
Suited for families whose connections span more than one country, where the documentary requirements may be considerable — and where delays in producing the correct documentation can slow the entire estate process.
What the service covers
- Review of family structure and relevant relationships to the estate
- Identification of required Thai and foreign documents
- Coordination with district offices, embassies, or overseas registrars
- Translation and certification of foreign records where required
- Preparation of a complete heir documentation file for submission
Typical duration
Several weeks to several months, depending on foreign document requirements
Service 03
Cross-Border Inheritance Coordination
฿35,000 per matter
A specialist service for inheritances involving assets or beneficiaries in more than one country — arrangements that require coordination between Thai law and the law of one or more other jurisdictions. The work begins with a careful review of how the relevant legal frameworks interact.
The engagement proceeds through coordinated work with counsel in the other jurisdictions where appropriate, and continues until distribution is complete in each location. Matters of this kind typically take a year or more to conclude.
What the service covers
- Initial mapping of which jurisdiction's law governs each aspect
- Coordination with qualified legal counsel in the foreign jurisdiction(s)
- Management of the sequence of steps across legal systems
- Preparation and transmission of required cross-border documentation
- Continued engagement through distribution in each location
Typical duration
One year or more — timeline depends on the jurisdictions involved
