3. Services
Chai Advocates provides inheritance legal services within Thailand and, where matters require it, in coordination with counsel in other jurisdictions. Our current service offerings are:
Power of Attorney Preparation — ฿4,800
Drafting and formalisation of powers of attorney for estate and legal affairs purposes, in accordance with Thai formal requirements.
Heir Documentation Service — ฿11,800
Assembly and verification of documentary evidence confirming heir status, including coordination of records from relevant authorities in Thailand and, where applicable, other countries.
Cross-Border Inheritance Coordination — ฿35,000
Management of inheritance matters spanning more than one jurisdiction, from initial legal framework review through to completion of distribution in each relevant country.
Fees stated are the base professional fees for each service. Additional costs such as government filing fees, translation costs, or charges from counsel in other jurisdictions are not included and will be communicated separately where they arise.
4. Engagement and Fees
- An engagement is formed only upon the execution of a written engagement letter. Enquiries submitted through the website do not constitute an engagement.
- Fees are payable in Thai Baht (฿). Payment terms and methods are specified in the engagement letter.
- Quoted fees reflect the scope described at engagement. Material changes in scope may require an adjustment to fees, which will be discussed and agreed in advance.
- Where a matter is terminated by either party before completion, fees are payable for work properly performed to the date of termination, at the rates set out in the engagement letter.
5. Client Responsibilities
To allow us to carry out our work properly, you agree to:
- Provide complete, accurate, and timely instructions and documents as requested.
- Notify us promptly of any changes in circumstances that may affect the matter.
- Not provide false, misleading, or incomplete information. We are bound by professional obligations and may be required to discontinue our engagement if information provided proves materially inaccurate.
- Use this website only for lawful purposes and in a manner that does not infringe the rights of third parties.
6. Confidentiality
All information you share with us in connection with a matter is treated as confidential, consistent with the professional obligations applicable to legal practitioners in Thailand. We will not disclose your information to third parties except:

Either party may terminate an engagement by written notice. Upon termination:
- Fees for work properly performed to the termination date remain payable.
- We will take reasonable steps to hand over the matter to any successor adviser you nominate, subject to any outstanding balance being settled.
- Confidentiality obligations and provisions limiting liability survive termination.

- Assignment: You may not assign your rights or obligations under any engagement without our written consent.
